I like Arthur van Wyk's recipe. On his 50 anniversary that asked him the recipe. And what he said was precious cause to be married for 50 year in this age of ours is amazing.

“I only told my wife once that I loved her and that was on our marriage, since that day I only showed her that I love her.” And while you think about what he said I have to remind you about the saying: "Action speaks louder than words.”

Arthur was brought up in the old times where there was not much talking about love. That's why he spend more time showing than speaking. You must remember, words without deeds is empty and means nothing.
People who walks round the whole day and say love words, but do not live by it ... their marriages do not last. Arthur believes that love is a verb.

I feel that we must not play deeds and words against each other. They must walk side by side they must complement each other.
Elements of love
(how one show it)
* Words
* Cards, gifts
* Nice surprises
* Flowers
* Courtesy and politeness
* Helpfulness
* Kindness
* A Shoulder and assistance in a time of trouble
* Inspiration and encouragement
* Listen without interruption
* Make time
* Do things for them that they like
* Do things together
* And do things together even if you do not like it
* Hugs, kisses and intimacy

I believe that non of the above is foreign to you. Just do it. When you ask? This weekend? No, every single day.

Arthur did it for 50 year.

Amen.
